Guayusa Tea (Ilex guayusa) has been traditionally brewed in South American regions for more than 1,000 years.
The taste is something between mate and green tea, but it isn’t bitter and is pleasant to drink.
Guayusa tea has an amazing ability to increase energy levels, clean the teeth, aid in weight loss. It’s low in calories and able to stimulate the metabolism.
One of the things I love about it is that it strengthens the digestion and immune system.
Guayusa contains theobromine, which is also found in Cacao. Theobromine has been linked to protecting the blood vessels and arteries, which in turn, maintains the overall cardiovascular health.
Unlike coffee and other teas, Guayusa won’t stain the teeth, it helps to boost oral health because of its antioxidant levels.
Guayusa tea contains polyphenolic compounds which can help to reduce oxidative stress and prevent the negative effects of free radicals, which can lead to chronic disease and cancer.
